For demonstration of basic concepts associated with electromagnetic induction such as AC transformers, induced currents and their effects etc. Comprises a U-Core and I-Core, made from high grade laminations to minimize the induction losses, I-core sitting completely over U-core to provide a continuous rectangular annular laminated block. Arms of the U-core takes various coils included for different experiments. All coils are wound from enameled copper wire on rectangular plastic bobbin and are totally covered to prevent any contact with the winding. 4mm sockets provided for connections except for 600 turns coil that operates on AC mains and is provided with a 3-pin AC MAINS socket. Each coil clearly marked with number of turns and sits comfortably on U-core arm without air gap. Also included is a pair of soft iron pole-pieces to sit on top of U-core arms. One end of each pole piece is flat so that the pole pieces in situ provide a narrow gap with full cross-sectional area, while the other end in form of truncated cone providing narrow concentrated field between the poles. Following components are included in the apparatus:
